About Me
Cam is an athlete that knows exactly what he wants in life and wants to achieve and he knows exactly how he's gonna get it
I am an international athlete, and I have represented Great Britain on the international stage eight times. I specialise in the 20km and 50km walks, and I have competed in both the European Cup and the World Cup.
I was born in Maidstone, county town of Kent, and first started athletics in the summer of 2007 as an alternative sport to rugby, which I played during the winter. The following year I started competing as a junior athlete for Medway & Maidstone. I broke through to national level in 2010, winning county and area titles, and picked up a silver medal at my first English Schools' competition.
I continued to improve, and earned my first international vest in 2013, representing Great Britain in Dudince, Slovakia, finishing 10km in 48:19.
I moved to Leeds in 2015 to study Philosophy, Ethics and Religion at Leeds Trinity University, and train at the National Centre for Race Walking with the top athletes and coaches in the country. During my time in Leeds I qualified for the World Juniors, European u23 and won a team silver medal in the 2019 European race walking cup.
I'm now living in Cardiff, where I'm continuing to train towards the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games. Alongside my athletics career I also work as an EMS call handler for the Welsh ambulance service.
